This is an intriguing prequel to the novel the Ruthless Sinner. I read the full novel first and really enjoyed it. This prequel gives insight into the inner workings of Italian mafia families and the cruel beginnings of Dante and Adelina’s childhoods. It’s hard to believe that children could be treated so cruelly and that they are brought up in a world that is heartless and cold. It sets the tone and creates an aura of suspense and danger - which translate perfectly into the spicy dark romance novel.
