Frozen Lives by Jennifer Graeser Dornbush is a fast-paced psychological thriller about a woman named Dr. Emily Hartford, a surgeon, who returns to her home town of Freeport after receiving news that her best friend’s son is missing. Even after having been gone for ten years and building a new life with her boyfriend/ex-fiance in Chicago, Emily finds herself caught up in feelings of nostalgia that comes with being truly home. Emily is quickly thrust into helping alongside the investigation which turns into something more sinister once the child returns home.

I could not put this book down. I loved that the strong female lead was well crafted. Emily took charge and was respected for her medical knowledge but also showed a vulnerable, caring side when with friends and family. This story was a good mix of all the things I love in a good book: a solid storyline with well developed characters and exhilarating plot twists. I highly recommend this book to others!

Priscilla is gloriously awkward, blurting out the worst possible excuses in already cringey situations and somehow making everything more uncomfortable. She’s got zero filter, big dreams, and a best friend who cheers on every chaotic scheme. She is so relatable and you can’t help but root for her.

While helping their best friends Tina and Ryan secretly plan competing proposal surprises, Priscilla and Oliver pretend to be in a fake relationship, but they craft the ultimate engagement moment for their friends, sparks fly for real. Priscilla and Oliver’s romance is a delicious slow burn with awkward moments, poor communication but with some deliciously spicy scenes. I loved this novel and I will definitely be reading more of Donna Marchetti’s books in the future.

This gripping thriller keeps readers on edge from start to finish. The story delivers an unsettling reminder that no one is ever quite who they seem. Elizabeth, a professor in New York, has built a life far removed from her Louisiana roots and the past she’s worked hard to forget. But when her students begin submitting writing assignments that mirror deeply buried secrets, she realizes someone knows far more than they should. With nowhere else to turn, she returns to Louisiana in search of answers.

What follows is a relentless pursuit of truth, forcing Elizabeth to confront the ghosts of her past. The novel weaves together layers of mystery, complex characters, and unexpected twists, making it impossible to put down. Fast-paced and chilling, this book keeps you hooked right to the last page.

I’m completely swept away by Sammie and Romeo’s love story. It’s the kind of slow-burning, magnetic connection that transforms into a deep, breathtaking romance. The chemistry between them felt so real and adorable.

This is the second book I’ve read in the Love Hotel series, and I’m officially obsessed. Olivia Spring has skyrocketed to the top of my list of favorite romance authors. Every character she creates is vibrant, quirky, and full of heart. Her stories strike the perfect balance: the kind of relatable love that feels grounded in reality, but still gives you those fluttery butterflies. The men are swoon-worthy, gentle, kind, and irresistible while women are strong, smart, charming, and relatable.
Olivia’s books are my happy place with just the right blend of banter, steam, and soulful romance. I can’t get enough!
